We took over the farm in 2000 and have gradually transformed it into a comfortable 4-star family hotel.
One thing was particularly important to us: preserving the original character of Oberkarteis whilst creating modern holiday comforts for families.

Pure nature

Treating our natural surroundings with care is part of our everyday approach. That’s why we focus on specific measures in our hotel operations.

The water used throughout our hotel comes from our own spring – a valuable resource that we use with great care. Our energy is generated from biomass, and separating waste is part of our daily routine.

We also take a conscious approach to water and energy in our indoor pool: the water is treated with salt and heated using geothermal energy.

A Historical Journey through our Family Hotel

Deeply rooted. Grown.

The history of Oberkarteis dates back to the 16th century.
In 1935, our grandfather purchased the property, which had previously been used solely for agricultural purposes, thereby laying the foundations for the development of our establishment.
In 1966, the old building was replaced by a new one.
In 1973, our parents were finally able to welcome their first guests – a significant step that transformed the Oberkarteis farm into a place of hospitality.
