We took over the farm in 2000 and have gradually transformed it into a comfortable 4-star family hotel.
One thing was particularly important to us: preserving the original character of Oberkarteis whilst creating modern holiday comforts for families.

We Place Great Value on Sustainability

Pure nature

Treating our natural surroundings with care is simply second nature to us. That’s why we are committed to running our hotel in a sustainable way.

The water for our entire house comes from our own spring – a precious resource we use with great care. Our energy is generated from biomass, and consistent waste separation is part of our everyday routine.

We also focus on sustainability in our indoor pool: the water is treated with salt and gently heated using geothermal energy. This way, we combine wellbeing with responsibility.

A Historical Journey through our Family Hotel

Deeply rooted. Grown.

The history of Oberkarteis dates back to the 16th century.
In 1935, our grandfather purchased the property, which had previously been used solely for agricultural purposes, thereby laying the foundations for the development of our establishment.
In 1966, the old building was replaced by a new one.
In 1973, our parents were finally able to welcome their first guests – a significant step that transformed the Oberkarteis farm into a place of hospitality.
